Eyewear Fit & Sizing Guide

Eyewear Fit & Sizing Guide

Finding the perfect pair of frames starts with knowing your measurements. This guide will help you find eyewear that fits comfortably and looks great.

📏 How to Measure Your Face

Face Width

Using a soft measuring tape or a ruler, measure the widest part of your face — typically from temple to temple, just above your cheekbones. This is your face width.

  • Narrow: Under 130 mm
  • Medium: 130–145 mm
  • Wide: Over 145 mm

Temple Length

Measure from the hinge of the frame (where the arm meets the front) along the side of your head to just behind your ear. Most adults fall between 135–150 mm.

🔢 How to Read Frame Measurements

Every pair of frames has three key numbers printed on the inside of the temple arm — for example: 52 □ 18 – 140

Number What It Means Typical Range
52 — Lens Width Width of one lens in mm 44–58 mm
18 — Bridge Width Distance between the two lenses 14–24 mm
140 — Temple Length Length of the arm from hinge to tip 130–150 mm

Total Frame Width = Lens Width × 2 + Bridge Width. For the example above: 52 + 52 + 18 = 122 mm. This should be close to your face width for the best fit.

🔍 Choosing Frames for Your Face Shape

Oval Face

Lucky you — most frame styles work well! Try geometric, rectangular, or oversized frames to complement your balanced proportions.

Round Face

Angular and rectangular frames add definition and make the face appear slimmer and longer. Avoid small, round frames.

Square Face

Round or oval frames soften strong jawlines and broad foreheads. Rimless or semi-rimless styles also work beautifully.

Heart / Inverted Triangle Face

Frames that are wider at the bottom balance a broader forehead. Light-coloured or rimless frames on top draw less attention upward.

Oblong / Rectangle Face

Tall frames with decorative temples add width and break up the length of the face. Oversized or wraparound styles work well.

Diamond Face

Oval or rimless frames that are wider than the cheekbones help balance narrow foreheads and chins. Cat-eye styles are a great choice.

✅ Fit Tips for Comfort

  • The frame should sit comfortably on your nose without pinching — the bridge width is key.
  • Temples should rest lightly on your ears without pressing or sliding.
  • Your eyes should be centred within the lens, not too high or too low.
  • The frame should not touch your cheeks when you smile.
